Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation has been in the forefront of pioneering changes in urban administration. The achievements have been refreshing and instill hope that a lot more could be achieved. Transparency in administration, citizen friendly initiatives and quick responsiveness to problems faced by citizens are the hallmarks of a good governance initiative. That this has been achieved in the HDMC and remains top on their agenda is truly noteworthy.

The twin cities are poised for future growth in the coming years. Being the second biggest city in Karnataka after Bangalore, it has immense potential to grow. From being the favoured destination for IT Investment in II Tier cities to being the educational and cultural capital of the State, Hubli-Dharwad is on the move. The HDMC will be at the forefront of this change. Infrastructural improvements and providing a citizen friendly administration will go a long way in realizing this goal.

Along with the myriad achievements, it must not be forgotten that there are still many challenges facing the twin cities. The HDMC should be geared up to face those challenges. Change does not occur overnight. It requires a sustained effort and perseverance. This has been earlier demonstrated by the HDMC. I am confident that in future too HDMC will maintain its initiatives and address the issues facing its citizens in an efficient and effective manner.
