FAQs on Dog License
Q: Who should obtain the Dog License ?
A: Everyone who own's dog should obtain Dog License compulsorily.
Q: What is the procedure to obtain Dog license ?
A: You can obtain Dog license by producing the duly filled prescribed Application Form issued by the corporation to your respective zonal office. You can also download the application form online.
Q: What are the Documents to be enclosed with the Application Form ?
A: Photocopy of the Veterinary Doctor's certificate regarding antirabies vaccination & health condition of the dog.
Q: What next, after filling up application form?
A: The concerned ward Health inspector verify with the application form and issue a challan for Rs.50 which has to be remitted in respective zonal office bank. After producing the paid receipt to the zonal office , the license(token) will be issued or renewed by the concerned zonal authority.
Q: What is the fee Schedule ?
A:License fee is Rs.50/- for each financial year.
Q: What is the procedure for renewal ?
A: The following documents have to be submitted for renewal of dog license.
  1. Original License copy.
  2. Previous year fees challans.
  3. Photocopy of the Veterinary Doctor's certificate for the current year.
Q: What is period for license renewal ?
A: Renewal period is from January 1st to March 31st of every year.
Q: If I don't obtain the Dog License, what will be the result ?
A: If you don't obtain the Dog license then your pet will be treated as diseased/rabid stray dog. Further it will be caught and appropriate action will be taken.
Q: Who is the contact officer, if I have questions regarding my Dog License ?
A: Concerned ward Health Inspector and Assistant Commissioner is the contact Officer for license enquiry.
