ARYABHATA  TECH  PARK

HUBLI :
Hubli’s technology park will soon become a reality, with the Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation preparing to set up the much-delayed technology park in the City.

The ‘Aryabhata Tech Park’ spreads across 26 acres, will come up at Amargol village on the Hubli- Dharwad main road. It aims to be a model park in the non metropolitan regions.

"The blueprint is ready and approved by the Hubli- Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HUDA). We will begin the infrastructure construction once we receive money from the IT companies," said Ajay Nagabhushan, HDMC Commissioner.

As per the plan, the tech park will have 11 companies with a 24-metre wide road, giving better connectivity.

"Each company will have accessibility to the road from two sides - one connecting Kuvempu Road and the other connecting Circuit House near Sutagatti," he said.

Situated 12 km away from Hubli airport, the HDMC plans to make it a model park in the state. The Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation plans to take up construction works once all the companies pay the remaining amount of the fixed land price and betterment charges

The Hubli-Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HDUDA) has developed 26 acres near Sutagatti on the Hubli-Dharwad road for setting up units in the IT/ITeS or BT sectors.

The state government had ordered HDUDA to develop the land belonging to the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation. The layout has been approved and christened Aryabhatta Tech Park.

HDMC has already allotted land to various companies for setting up units in the IT/ ITeS sectors.

While five acres of land has been allotted to NSI Healthcare BPO, Hubli, Deeksha Technologies, Bangalore has been given three acres. Other companies that have been allotted land are: Able Design Engineering Services, Dharwad (1.5 acre), PAC Soft, Bangalore (4 acres), Trinity Tech and Software Solutions, Hubli, Mahavver Infotech, Hubli, Penaber Infotech, Hubli (One acre each), Sankalp Semi-Conductors, Bangalore, C2 Silicon Software Solutions Pvt Ltd (three acres each), Evision Bangalore (one acre) and Oruley Tech Pvt Ltd, Bangalore (2.5 acre).

HDMC Commissioner Ajay Nagabhushan said seven companies had already remitted 40 per cent of the cost of the land. The land is priced at Rs 10 lakh per acre.

The organisations which have been allotted land have been asked to remit the price of the land and betterment levy to the tune of Rs 78,450 per acre.

The HDMC will now provide drinking water, underground drainage, electricity and other infrastructure facilities at Aryabhata Tech Park.

Ajay said the work would start as soon as the allottees paid the betterment levy.

A 24 meter wide road will be constructed from the Hubli-Dharwad road to Aryabhata Tech Park.
Following the investors’ meet at Hubli during May 2006, the state government announced it would give land at a concessional rate of 50 per cent to the companies intending to start their units in Hubli-Dharwad.

It had give a condition that the allottees will have to start operations within two years of getting the land.

The conditions will remain, Ajay Nagabhushan said. The land would be taken back if the allottees failed to comply with the conditions.
